So incredibly resonant, right down to the ease with math! This frame and mirror is so helpful. I am playing in that space now where I “know” something and am exploring around and around to fill in or find the words. I described where I am recently as “not stuck, but emerging.” It feels incredibly productive “in here” even though I have little to “show” for it (yet). Thank you for sharing this!

Exactly. I'm always emerging. 🤣 It seems to be a continual process. I read this again after sharing it with you and I realize how much more I've built on this understanding since I wrote it. Keep emerging! 🦋

This is the clearest and most helpful account of gestalt processing I have come across. Thank you. I've also found Sher and Jaime's work indispensable

Thank you for this.

The house of mirrors image feels exactly right. Not sameness, but resonance. That uncanny recognition is what helped me feel less alone long before I had words for it myself.

I’m really glad this piece offered some of that back to you.

I really felt this.

A "house of mirrors" image kept popping into my head while I was reading. The more brilliant writing I discover on Substack, the more I realize it's because I'm finding people whose lived experience resonates so closely with my own. Not identical reflections, but close enough to spark that uncanny, "How did this total stranger find their way into my head?" feeling.

"Thinking in Wholes" did that for me again. There's something quietly magical about it.

I've spent most of my life feeling alone in being different. Pieces like this soften that. Each shared story feels like another mirror, another reminder that we're not as isolated in our inner landscapes as it can seem.

Thank you for this.

A coherent and somewhat beautiful account of thinking in gestalts. I really enjoyed this Chris.

Thank you. I’m glad it resonated, and I appreciate you naming the coherence. That’s exactly what I was trying to stay faithful to.
