Wanted to acknowledge the work articles like this are doing in giving parents more language and affirming frameworks to work from in observing and understanding our kids. My experiences of advocacy have largely been dead-ends where the limits of what I am able to sufficiently explain based on my lived experience and observations do not reach the point at which the well-meaning professional is willing/able to pick it up and adjust (not on this issue in particular, but analogous). We sort of acknowledge the impasse and each move on. I love both that you have a willing partner in supporting your daughter and that you are so generously sharing your insights here—thank you!
