"Multi-dimensional pattern and embodied knowing compressed into linear expression and legible output."
This made me think of a piece I published once upon a long time ago when I had a personal blog, about being an octopus who had to learn to walk in a straight line - https://wp.me/p1w7Rk-5M if you're interested, it's short, but no pressure.
What you describe in this piece is so familiar. I have lost the internal signal and recovered it so many times, and still, here I am again. I've had a relentless 6 months, and I am trying to find the signal again. Stopping everything that can be stopped. Creating space where there isn't any because I want to be connected again instead of living inside the adaptation machine. Thank you for the gift of this reflection. ❣️
Thank you for this, and for trusting me with that piece. I read it slowly. Twice.
The mirrors on every appendage stopped me. Checking what you'll look like before you're even done thinking. I know that configuration intimately, and so does my daughter, who is still young enough that I can sometimes see it happening in real time: the octopus beginning to appraise herself before she's finished moving.
"The adaptation machine" is exactly right. I may borrow it.
I'm glad you're stopping what can be stopped. That's not nothing. It's the first move. I hope the signal finds its way back to you soon.
Borrow away! I'm honored. And thank you for engaging so thoughtfully with the old piece; it's not for everyone, but I felt resonance with your articulation here, even if the writing forms/ styles are very different.
I am so loving witnessing your reconstitution in your writings. ❤️😊

Thank you. By this time next year, I'll have a self earned PhD in me. 😆
This is just lovely.
